AUTHOR'S NOTE

I have lived for many years in Italy, a country with a thousand faces that never fails to surprise and fascinate me. I can’t conceive of my life without images: they are a true language, where form demands a constant training to refine its expression, where our rational sense cannot be detached from our inner self, from our personal path, from our conscience, opinions, thoughts, emotions, instincts… Reporting is like putting oneself entirely at the
disposition of the reality that surrounds one: body, heart, intuition, thought and sight, in order to relate it better. In other circumstances it is reality that is at our service: when we “use it” allegorically to express a thought, a concept, an observation or a state of mind. The elements of the real then assume a symbolic connotation.
Sometimes these two aspects meet ..

BIOGRAPHY

Yasmina Barbet, a French photographer trained at the IED in Rome, developed a visual approach in Paris, enriched by drawing, art history, and image processing. Upon returning to Rome, she created a personal online photographic archive in 2008.

Since 2009, he has collaborated with Wostok Press, documenting major events such as the Vatican and the Venice and Rome festivals. He has published several works, including Senegal Natangué, presented to the Italian Senate.

Winner of the 2nd prize “Lorenzo il Magnifico” at the Florence Biennale 2025, and of the 3rd prize in 2017, her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Europe and the United States.

He conducts imaginative research that explores the emotional nuances of the psyche and the internal states we go through, sometimes drawing on mythology—a profound and timeless mirror of the human soul.

He combines his photography with digital techniques, creating an introspective and contemporary visual universe.
